Virginia is the 12th largest state in terms of population as it is home to 8 million people! The state is rather small it is ranked 35th in terms of area and is only 42,774 square miles. The state has many different nicknames, one being ‘The Mother of Presidents’ The state was home to presidents like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson. The state is also known as the birthplace of the nation.
