Play Zynga Poker Before It’s Too Late
Social media games have exploded over the past few years. Among one of the biggest social media names is, of course, Zynga. Zynga has been around for quite some time, pumping out social media classics like Mafia Wars and Farmville. Admit it, how many hours have you spent slaving away in those digital fields? While Zynga has made quite a name for itself, many had no idea there first game was actually a poker title: Zynga Poker.
Zynga poker is a fun little online poker game. It may not offer the same level of variety as other sites (only Hold Em), but it’s simple and easy to use. More importantly, it’s free to play. Table stakes range from 1/2 all the way to 2 million/4 million. Free online poker doesn’t really deliver that thrill of high stakes gambling, but it still takes a significant amount of time to play at the ‘high stakes’ tables. By then, it still hurts to lose the chips to a loose/aggressive player who can’t wait to steal your blinds. Play in Sit and Go (Sit n Go) or weekly tournaments that pop up all the time. Try the Power Tournaments for huge pots. Or try your hand in Shootout tournaments where the poker player must defeat all other players at the table before proceeding.
The biggest issue with playing Zynga poker has to do with the all-in attitude cultivated on the site. If you’re trying to learn three bet techniques, forget it. It’s all or nothing on so many hands that it saps some of the best poker elements out of the game. It can be excruciating for seasoned poker players, but most beginners won’t seem to notice (or mind). Zynga poker isn’t the greatest online poker game out there, but it’s definitely among the best social media poker games. There is no shortage of players, and after the lengthy load up time, it runs pretty smoothly from game to game.
Why take a look at Zynga poker before it’s too late? For those who had no idea, game developer EA games filed a lawsuit against Zynga at the beginning of the year. The lawsuit was based on another online Zynga game entitled The Ville (uncomfortably similar in many ways to EA’s The Sims). The big debate right now is about who stands to lose more from the lawsuit. If Zynga loses, it would more than likely be a fatal financial blow for the developer. However, Forbes magazine questions the likelihood of EA walking out without sustaining future development losses. Future losses mean less development jobs and fewer games. The two opposing companies are locked in a grueling feud that could potentially end Zynga. Regardless of the outcome, there will be social media gamers left without something to play.
If you’re a seasoned online poker player, you probably already know about Zynga poker and that it may be a good idea to steer clear of it (unless you like being on tilt). If you’re new to poker, Zynga is a comfortable atmosphere that will help you learn the basics for free. Either way, give Zynga poker a chance, at the very least for its fun atmosphere and social media base. Who knows, it may not be around for too much longer.
