Andre the Giant
Andre the Giant is a slot machine which was created based on one of the big names of the wrestling community. He lived between 1946 and 1993, and he was nicknamed that way because he suffered from a disease called gigantism. He was French and he was both an actor and a professional wrestler. The game that Microgaming designed based on him doesn’t have the prettiest design ever, but it does include features where you actually see him wrestle. This particular slot gets 25 paylines on its 5 reels, paying as much as $5,000.
Betting & Jackpots
This game has a simpler betting system than other titles offered by Microgaming. You get to pick how many lines are active, and then how much the line bet should be. You spend at most $1 on each of the 25 lines, so the maximum bet will be worth $25.
The biggest prize of the slot seems to come from the scatter icon, which will pay up to $5,000, meaning 200 times the triggering bet. A regular symbol with a wrestler is also capable of offering the same amount, giving away 5,000 coins.
The image of Andre is used for the wild symbol, and it’s going to appear on two reels, the 2nd and the 4th ones. If the symbol appears there, it expands and covers all positions, as long as this gets you some new winning combination.
The other symbol in use here is a scatter, which will sport the image of the game logo on it. As is often the case, it pays simply for being present a certain number of times, the biggest prize giving you back 200 times what you put in that round.
Should you land a minimum of three game logos scattered on the reels, you will activate a feature with 10 free spins, where you collect special attack moves as they appear on the 5th reel. Once the free spins are over, you get a bonus game, where you use the collected moves against the opponent.
The action takes place on a wrestling ring, the reels being placed in the middle. The quality isn’t that great, but if you’re a wrestling fan it will not stop you from playing the game. The symbols are all themed, showing either objects used by the fans, or wrestlers, belts and tickets.
It’s a game for the wrestling fans, one of the few to have this theme, with above average prizes and a decent list of features.
