Blackjack is one of the most popular online casino games. Players enjoy Blackjack because of it’s thrilling nature and great payout potential. Based upon the casino you’re playing at, the amount of decks used varies. In land based casinos they typically use eight decks of 52 cards.
Card Values for Blackjack:
Cards 2 through 10 are worth their face value.
Ace is worth eleven or 1 depending on the hand you have in front of you.
Jack, Queen, & Kings are also used as 10 points in this game.
The objective in Blackjack is to obtain a hand higher than the dealers, without going over 21 points. This goes for the dealer as well. There are a few different terms a player may hear at the blackjack tables.
Bust: When the player or the dealer goes over 21
Stand: When the player has a hand they don’t want to add more cards to because they are close to 21 already.
Hit: When the player would like another card from the dealer on their turn. This is typically when the player has less than 16 points on hand.
Double: When the player would like another card and has high hopes that they will win the hand without a bust, this is called a double down. The player will place an additional wager and ask for another card.
Split: The player will have a pair in their hand, in the game of Blackjack the player is able to split those hands and place a second ante bet for the new hand. The first hand comes first the player will hit until they are satisfied and then the next hand is played.
Blackjack: Ace & 10 Card.
Insurance: If the dealer has an ace as their up card the player can purchase insurance which will allow the player a payout of 2 to 1 if the dealer has Blackjack. If the dealer doesn’t have Blackjack the player loses the bet.
To start the game of Blackjack, the player will first make their wager. Typically in online casinos the player will need to click the chips they would like to play and then click the circle in front of them that will usually have some kind of marker that represents a bet. The dealer will now start dealing out the cards first one to himself face down & then go around the table passing out one card per person face up. The dealer will then go around the table a second time passing out the second cards face down. After the cards are out on the table the player can choose to stay in the game or forfeit. If the dealer has an Ace or a 10 card, there is a chance the dealer may have Blackjack. In this case, if the dealer has Blackjack the player will lose all of their bets. In the event of a tie the player will just break even & get their bet back. There are other rules along with Blackjack, if the dealer has 17 or more they must stand. If the dealer has less than 17 they must hit. If they have a soft 17 the dealer must hit as well. When the dealer busts, any player who didn’t wins!
